In the USA, a man caught a "hybrid of an alligator and a pike" (3 photos)
An American fisherman from Kentucky caught a giant alligator weighing about 155 pounds and measuring 7 feet long.
A man named Art Weston used ultralight gear with test line, and his catch became the largest in history in this category. The record has already been confirmed by the International Game Fish Association (IGFA).
The hunt lasted for four hours. “This is not a situation where you can just overpower the fish. You have to tire it out, keeping constant pressure,” Weston explained. The catch was weighed, photographed and released into Lake Livingston, where it was caught.
However, Internet users were surprised not so much by the American's professionalism as by the appearance of his catch. Many noted that the alligator resembled a pike. Users have already dubbed the new species of reptile a hybrid of a crocodile and a fish. There were also those who believed that the photo was taken by artificial intelligence.
