The fisherman pulled out a rare one and a half meter pike through a narrow hole
Fishermen in the USA caught an amazingly huge rare pike and barely pulled it through a narrow ice hole. The capture of the rare fish was caught on video; according to eyewitnesses, it turned out to be slightly longer than 1.4 meters.
On February 22, a resident of the American state of Minnesota caught a rare muskellunge pike 1.4 meters long. The catch turned out to be so large that it barely fit into the narrow hole. When the pike was pulled out, it became clear that it was trying to swallow a smaller fish and got hooked.
Several fishermen noted that the fish should be released as muskellunge are a relatively rare freshwater fish.

These pikes are the largest representatives of the species and reach 1.8 meters in length and weigh up to 32 kilograms. Due to their size, such fish often become trophies for fishermen and now they are becoming less and less common.
Is it possible to release fish back into the pond?
Some fishermen are sure that it is impossible to release the fish back. Of course, some percentage still die, but this is not comparable to how many fish are pulled out and thrown away just like that. Fans of sport fishing quite often release fish back and advise others to do the same. You can catch a few fish by fishing and frying, and the rest of the catch can be safely released.
