An incident occurred at a construction site in Sydney's Macquarie Park. There, a worker fell from a height of about three meters, falling through the deck. As a result of the fall, he received a penetrating wound to the buttocks, landing on a protruding pin.
The victim remained conscious after the fall, and his injuries, fortunately, were not life-threatening. It took paramedics time to safely evacuate the man from the scene.
The worker was taken to Royal North Shore Hospital where he is in a stable condition. The incident is currently being investigated by SafeWork NSW, the government's workplace safety watchdog. A spokesman for the organisation confirmed that it had received notification of the incident but declined to comment further until the investigation is complete.
