Interesting find in the sandbox (1 photo)
Interesting archaeological discoveries are often made by accident.
Recently, officials from the University of Bremen (Germany) reported on a rare find made in the city of Bremen by an eight-year-old boy named Björn while playing in a sandbox. Björn found a silver ancient Roman denarius there, 1800 years old. The find is interesting because there were never any ancient Roman settlements or outposts in these northern latitudes. The boy brought home the coin, minted during the time of Emperor Marcus Aurelius, and showed it to his parents. They, in turn, passed on information about the find to scientists. Experts considered it rare and after studying it, they handed it over to the local museum. The boy who found the rare artifact received two books on archeology as a gift from the scientists.
