What will happen to the body if you spend 24 hours on a treadmill (4 photos + 2 videos)
A man who ran for 24 hours non-stop has shared the toll the challenge has taken on his body. Joe Pritchard took the risk to raise money for the My Name'5 Doddie Foundation. The charity, named after Scottish rugby star Doddie Weir, helps people with amyotrophic lateral sclerosis.
Pritchard's video shows him running in the New Inn pub in Shrawley, Worcestershire.
During the 24 hours spent on the treadmill, he faced many difficulties: a broken treadmill, psychological blocks and even a nosebleed. But the Briton managed to cover 167 km, collecting 4,000 pounds sterling.
When Joe got off the treadmill, he sat down to rest for 15 minutes, after which his friends carried him out into the garden. There, the man suddenly became ill: he fell and lost his sight for a while. Pritchard was brought home, where he passed out for the second time. After taking a hot bath, his condition improved.

The man said he felt "strange, dizzy" after the extreme marathon.
Viewers of the video were shocked that no one from the passersby called an ambulance, given Joe's condition.
One user asked: "Why didn't you go to the hospital?"
A second user added: "Really, you should have gone to the hospital, it's not normal."
The runner could have developed rhabdomyolysis, a condition in which muscle cells are destroyed. This syndrome develops during prolonged heavy physical work.
