The worst of the worst: the remake of "Snow White" topped the IMDb anti-rating (4 photos + 1 video)

The film's poor ratings were blamed on the leading actress.

The Snow White remake cost $250 million to produce, but the box office receipts were only $87 million. Viewers gave the film record low ratings. Almost 200,000 people who watched the "masterpiece of cinema" rated it 1.6 out of 10 possible points.

The audience didn't like almost everything: the leading actress was also criticized, hated for her harsh statements. Rachel Zegler once said that the original 1937 cartoon was "outdated" and "toxic." Americans who grew up on the classics were shocked by these statements.

In addition, they criticized the dwarf actors, who, after a wave of discontent, were replaced with computer graphics.

Other ratings for "Snow White" are also low:

• Metacritic — 50/100

• Rotten Tomatoes — 41% "fresh"

The son of the producer of "Snow White" blamed the leading actress for the failure of the film. John Platt believes that Rachel Zegler ruined everything with her harsh statements. Not only did she criticize the original cartoon, the actress did not behave with restraint in other situations.

For example, at the premiere of the trailer for "Snow White" in August 2024, Zegler supported "free Palestine" from the stage. Naturally, this passage caused a stir on social networks and concern among Disney management. After some time, Zegler made unflattering comments about Trump and his supporters. This happened right after the US presidential elections, and Disney bosses didn’t like it either, and even sent Platt to deal with the rebel. In addition, a specialist was assigned to the actress, who was supposed to help her manage social networks so as not to get into scandals. All of Rachel’s posts were checked up until the premiere of “Snow White”, which, by the way, was held in a closed format.

After editing, Zegler’s posts looked something like this: “FILM #1 IN THE WORLD!” Comments, of course, were disabled

And now, instead of admitting that the film simply failed, the producer's son is looking for someone to blame for this failure. Be that as it may, few people in the US believe in a sudden breakthrough in the consciousness of Americans who will suddenly start going to see "Snow White". For now, the situation in cinemas at screenings of this film looks like this.
