A teacher with the surname Wu, who is in his late fifties, took the student's address as a mockery and an insult. Even though the boy bowed twice and apologized, the teacher could not calm down. In total, he hit the child in the face nine times.





As a result of the beating, the fifth-grade boy's face swelled, he developed tinnitus and a constant headache. Doctors also diagnosed him with head and facial injuries. The child's mother immediately contacted the police and the school administration.

"My son was in a state of panic. I wonder what kind of action prompted a grown man to beat him? Who gave you the right to beat my child? If he did something wrong, you could have come to me," the boy's mother wrote on social media.

The school suspended Wu from work and offered compensation of about $700, which the family refused. The teacher himself justified himself by saying that the boy allegedly showed disrespect by shouting his name "mockingly and loudly."



"I am an old man, over 50. The student said my name in an extremely disrespectful way, so I slapped him in the face. I think he needs to discipline his tongue," the teacher added.

Opinions on social media were divided. Most people were outraged by the teacher's actions and believed that it was unacceptable to hit a child. "No teacher has the right to use physical violence," users wrote. Some participants in the discussion, on the contrary, supported Wu, citing traditional Chinese values ​​about the importance of respect for elders.

The local education department promised to conduct a full investigation of the incident based on current regulations.
