In China, a teacher carried a student with a rare disease on his back for two years (3 photos)
Xu Longjun, a high school teacher in Chongqing, first noticed about two years ago that a boy named Yingyuan was sleeping excessively. He tried to wake the student by splashing water in his face and pinching him, but to no avail.
The teacher then informed the boy's family about this and offered to take him to the hospital. Doctors diagnosed the child with narcolepsy, a disease of the nervous system related to hypersomnia. The disease is characterized by daytime attacks of irresistible drowsiness and attacks of sudden falling asleep, as well as sudden decreases in muscle tone with clear consciousness.
The boy underwent treatment, and although the disease remained, his condition improved. “Previously, the frequency of narcolepsy attacks was about two to three times a week. It has decreased since last year,” Longjun says. It is noted that for two years, every time the boy had an attack, the teacher carried him on his back to the car and took him to his home, where he handed him over to his grandparents. Relatives called Longjun a kind person and said that thanks to his help, the boy still attends school. The man, in turn, stated that he considered it his duty to help Yinyuan. He expressed hope that doctors would cure the boy's sleep disorder.
