The sad fate of classic cars is that many of them end up in landfill when their owners get over new, more modern cars. But some have more luck than the rest, and they end up abandoned in garages and sheds.
This Pontiac Bonneville is now in its sixth decade, and the last 40 of them he did not see sunlight, idle in the garage. Now it laundered, and it turned out that he was in excellent condition.
Every now and then there are reports that in some godforsaken a well-preserved vintage car was found in a barn or garage, turned into a time capsule. Then such curious garage finds are even exhibited at special exhibitions. The 1967 Pontiac Bonneville is just that. Dirty, covered with thick dust, the copy looked sad. But only because it hasn't been washed in 40 years. The owner's nephew drove the car to detailing center, where it was washed, treated with various auto chemicals - and the car glowed.
It turned out that serious restoration is not required! All bodywork panels are smooth, traces of corrosion are minimal, and most importantly, the rich chrome finish, which is the main pride of the classic cars from the 60s.
The interior and trunk were somewhat damaged by rats, so restore interior decoration still had to. But in general, the interior quickly managed to bring in perfect condition. Plastic on the front and leather upholstery well preserved.
This Bonneville belongs to the fourth generation of the model, which produced from 1965 to 1970. It is based on the same B-body platform that and Chevrolet Impala, Buick LeSabre and Oldsmobile Dynamic 88. Model from Pontiac was offered in various body styles, including two- and four-door hardtops, convertible and station wagon.
The engine range included five different V8s with a displacement of 6.4-7.5 l. The 1967 convertible was equipped with a 6.6-liter engine with a capacity of 265 to 333 horsepower or 7-liter capacity from 360 to 375 Horse power.
A total of 96,708 1967 Pontiac Bonnevilles were produced, but only 8,902 were convertibles.
