Residents of the Spanish city of Talavera de la Reina are mourning the loss of a unique architectural monument – the old Roman bridge of Santa Catalina, which could not withstand a powerful flood. The historical structure, which has survived many natural disasters during its long history, could not withstand the elements.
It is worth noting that the bridge, built during the Roman Empire, was restored in the 13th century, as well as at the end of the 15th century under the direction of Fray Pedro de los Molinos, largely preserving its current appearance.
Local residents filmed the partial collapse of the bridge over the Tagus River, caused by the storm "Martinho"
