Tesla was kicked out of the car show in Vancouver, Canada (4 photos)
Organizers of the Vancouver International Auto Show have excluded Tesla from the list of participants, despite the fact that the company's electric cars were already placed in the exhibition pavilions. The refusal to participate was explained by possible safety issues.
Executive Director of the show Eric Nicoll said that the company was given several opportunities to voluntarily leave the list of exhibitors at the auto show, but Tesla did not take advantage of them and was therefore forcibly excluded. Amid ongoing protests against Tesla in the United States and Europe, the organizers of the show are afraid of similar actions in the pavilions, which could threaten the safety of visitors.
There is also a political motive in the decision of the organizing committee. Elon Musk has previously actively supported US President Donald Trump's desire to limit Canada's independence to the point of joining the United States and imposing higher tariffs. Therefore, Vancouver residents have already expressed open dissatisfaction with the fact that Tesla is participating in the event. At the same time, a number of other American automakers have been declared participants in the exhibition, including Cadillac, Chevrolet and Ford.
The main events within the framework of the international auto show in Vancouver will take place this coming weekend. The organizers expect that about 130 thousand people will visit the exhibition.
