Turkey is under a blanket of snow, with forecasters recording the heaviest snowfall in 50 years. The heaviest amount of precipitation fell in Istanbul, where flights are being delayed and cancelled at airports.
In some areas of the country, up to 48 mm of snow fell overnight, causing major traffic jams due to snowdrifts.
