Koenigsegg launched production of the CC850 hypercar three years after the premiere (11 photos)
The Koenigsegg company announced the start of assembly of cars on the third production line with its own name Reodor. It was created exclusively for the production of the CC850 hypercar, which premiered back in 2022. Initially, it was planned to assemble only 50 of these cars priced from $ 3 million, but later the circulation was increased to 70 copies.
The Koenigsegg CC850 is dedicated to the first model of the Swedish company with the designation CC8S, but it is based on modern units. The five-liter V8 was borrowed from the Jesko model, but equipped with more compact turbines, as a result of which the engine power was reduced to 1385 hp. The hypercar weighs 1,385 kilograms.
The main "feature" of the CC850 is the gearbox. In fact, this is a nine-speed "automatic" developed by Koenigsegg, but it comes with a clutch pedal and a lever: the gearbox can imitate the behavior of a six-speed "mechanics". The head of the company previously noted that this model should become the fastest production car with a manual gearbox, but the company does not plan to use the CC850 to set any records.
Koenigsegg allocates at least two weeks to assemble each copy. It's not just the technical complexity of the hypercar: each car will be made taking into account the smallest wishes of the customer. The production of the CC850 is planned to be completed in 2027.
