An Australian cruise line has apologised to passengers after its crew dressed in costumes reminiscent of the Ku Klux Klan.





Passengers on a cruise ship were terrified by the crew's costumes reminiscent of the Ku Klux Klan. A video of the moment has gone viral and caused a heated debate.

It is specified that the service staff on the ship dressed in pointy caps with slits for the eyes and cloaks during a Christmas event. One of the passengers on the ship, Terri, said the event had been heavily advertised at the start of the cruise, so all the guests were looking forward to it. However, when the crew in costumes came on deck, the passengers immediately fell silent in fear.

"The woman in front of me, her jaw dropped, said, 'What the hell?' Everyone else called it a 'Ku Klux Klan cruise,'" Terri admitted.

She expected the ship's senior crew to apologize or explain what had happened, but nothing of the sort happened. And the organizers of the cruise, P&O Cruises Australia, said the crew were wearing "upside-down snow cones."



"The crew were horrified and very apologetic when they found out about the distress their outfits would cause," P&O Cruises Australia added.
