Elon Musk's aerospace company SpaceX presented spacesuits designed for spacewalks. The new space equipment is called the Extravehicular Activity Suit ("suit for extravehicular activities", abbreviated as EVA). The company calls its development revolutionary - new spacesuits will replace the bulky equipment of past years, SpaceX believes. 
American EVA and EMU spacesuits in comparison
The EVA is reportedly based on the suits currently used by Crew Dragon crews. They differ from their bulky predecessors in their compact size, flexibility and comfort. The suit has a built-in thermoregulation system, a life support system, and a 3D-printed helmet is covered with an anti-reflective coating to protect the eyes, a camera and a projection display that displays information about the state of the suit during spacewalks.
The new suits have already passed all the tests necessary on Earth in vacuum conditions, where the Crew Dragon capsule was completely depressurized along with four dummies. They promise to test the equipment in real conditions very soon - during the Polaris Dawn mission, which will be led by billionaire Jared Isaacman in mid-2024. The spacewalk is planned to be carried out at an altitude of 500 km above the Earth.

Experts write that it is not yet clear how long astronauts will be able to stay in outer space in the newfangled EVA. But obviously, at first, at least in this parameter, they will be seriously inferior to the American EMU, which is capable of staying in outer space for 7-8 hours.
