Chinese Zeekr X became the safest electric car in Europe (7 photos)

The EuroNCAP Association has summed up the results of its 2024 testing program, naming the safest cars in different classes. Most of these are European models, but the rating also includes Japanese and Chinese crossovers - Mazda CX-80 and Zeekr X. The latter was named the safest model in two categories at once.





Zeekr X is noted as the safest compact crossover and is the leader among electric cars in general. In terms of the total indicators, it surpassed, for example, the electric Porsche Macan, Volvo EX30 and Toyota C-HR. The Chinese five-door car protects adult and minor passengers by 91 and 90 percent, the work of electronic systems was rated at 83%, and care for pedestrians by 84%.

The association particularly noted the large size of the compact crossover segment: 20 out of 44 cars tested by EuroNCAP in 2024 belonged to this class.

The Mazda CX-80, developed specifically for the European market, was recognized as the safest large SUV. Volkswagen Passat and Skoda Superb became the best among large family cars, and the Mercedes-Benz E-Class was named the absolute leader. All these models have a five-star safety rating, while their indicators differ by and large in minor nuances.
