Electric car Zeekr 001 sets a record for charging speed (2 photos)
Zeekr announced that it has set a record for the fastest battery replenishment in an electric car. Using the proprietary Zeekr V3 heavy-duty charging station, the Zeekr 001 battery was recharged from 10 to 80% in just 11 minutes and 28 seconds. However, in real life, not all electric car owners will be able to charge batteries at such a speed.
Zeekr 001 with a 95-kilowatt CATL battery was connected to a station capable of delivering 600-kilowatt charging current. It was possible to replenish the energy reserve from 10 to 80% on the liftback in just 11 minutes and 28 seconds, while the range, according to the on-board system, increased by 473 kilometers. The battery accumulated electricity for 264 kilometers in 5 minutes. Peak charging power reached 546.4 kW.
The electric car was charged at an air temperature of 26 degrees. However, Zeekr recalled that on the updated liftback the battery is accompanied by a thermoregulation system, and even at minus 10 degrees, recharging to 80% will take no more than half an hour.
Zeekr currently operates 900 charging stations in China, with 2,483 points capable of delivering charging currents of 360 kW or more. The company plans to increase the fleet by another thousand stations.
Sales of the updated Zeekr 001 launched at the end of winter. The electric car received new, more powerful power plants and improved batteries, but one of the most important improvements was the transfer of the five-door to an 800-volt architecture instead of the previous 400-volt. This modernization, by and large, made it possible to set a record.
