The first teaser trailer for the new "Superman" from the author of "Guardians of the Galaxy" James Gunn has appeared online. The film reboots the DC cinematic universe, and the role of the superhero will be played by David Corenswet, known for the series "The Politician", instead of Henry Cavill.
The film, which was originally called "Superman: Legacy", will tell about the Man of Steel, played by David Corenswet. Lois Lane was played by Rachel Brosnahan, an Emmy Award winner for the series "The Marvelous Mrs. Maisel". Nicholas Hoult tried on the image of Superman's main enemy Lex Luthor. The son of the famous Superman Christopher Reeve, Will Reeve, will appear in a cameo - he played a TV reporter.
The film will be the beginning of the updated DC cinematic universe, which Gunn is creating together with Peter Safran, co-head of DC Studios. The film is inspired by the All-Star Superman comic by Grant Morrison and Frank Quitely and follows Clark Kent as he seeks to reconcile his Kryptonian heritage with the human values he was raised in Kansas.
Gunn previously said that the DCEU films and TV shows will be more self-contained than Marvel and the previous version of the franchise. He wants viewers to be able to go to the theater without having to do their homework.
