77-year-old British singer, pianist and composer Elton John said that he has actually lost his sight. He made his confession to the audience at the Dominion Theatre in London's West End after the premiere of the musical "The Devil Wears Prada". 
Elton John said that he has gone blind in his right eye due to an infection he had this summer. The singer said that he was only able to appreciate the production by ear. "I lost my sight and couldn't see the play, but I enjoyed listening to it," Elton John said. The musician has been suffering from vision problems since July. In September, he revealed that he had suffered a severe eye infection over the summer that had left him partially blind. At the time, the artist said he was recovering at home and was feeling "positive about the progress" of his treatment.
In November, in an interview on ABC News' Good Morning America, Elton John revealed that he had developed the infection while on holiday in the south of France. "I've been blind for four months now, and my left eye isn't in the best condition. There's hope and confidence that everything will be fine, but at the moment I'm kind of stuck," he said at the time.
Last summer, Elton John gave his final concert as part of his farewell tour. The show at the Tele2 Arena in Stockholm ended with the song Goodbye Yellow Brick Road from the 1973 album of the same name. Before the performance, he said that he would “never tour again.” “I’ve had the most amazing career, you can’t believe it. 52 years of pure joy playing music. Playing for you guys has been a life-giving force to me, you’ve been absolutely amazing, thank you. I’ll never forget you,” the artist said at the time. The tour grossed $939 million.
