A scandal has erupted in China after a man surnamed Feng left his wife Wang just two months after they were married when she was diagnosed with terminal colon cancer. His actions have sparked a storm of criticism on social media, especially after he was convicted by a court in Anhui province.

The couple got married in 2022, but soon after the wedding, the young couple's life changed. Wang was diagnosed with late-stage cancer. Feng initially took care of his sick wife, but after a few months, he began using work trips to another city as an excuse to avoid responsibility. All attempts by the Wang family to contact him through calls, messages, and even the police were unsuccessful.

While Wang underwent long-term treatment, she was forced to borrow money to pay for expensive medical services. Despite all efforts, the woman passed away after spending more than 200 days in the hospital.

The Wang family filed a lawsuit against Feng, accusing him of refusing to take care of his wife and not sharing in the costs of her treatment. Moreover, the man proposed divorce twice while his wife was seriously ill. Wang's father condemned his son-in-law for his behavior, calling it "vicious" and noting that the family had repeatedly tried to reach out to him without success.



The Shitai County Court sentenced Feng to a year of probation, citing his inaction and breach of marital obligations. After lengthy negotiations with the deceased's family, Feng won their forgiveness.

The story has caused a stir on Chinese social media, with many users condemning Feng for his inhumane behavior.

"He abandoned his wife when she needed him most. This is unacceptable," one commenter wrote. Others called his actions "immoral" and "cold-blooded."
