In Lancashire (UK), 52-year-old farmer Neil Greenwood caught two friends on his plot, tied them up and took them to the police station. The police arrested Neil Greenwood himself on suspicion of false imprisonment and assault.
One of the abductees, 17-year-old Sheik Leland Gornby, told reporters that his 20-year-old friend was riding an electric bike through a farmer's field at night, and when he was going to go home, the gate was already closed, so he decided to climb over the fence and leave the bike until the morning.
"We went back the next morning to get him, but he wasn't there. The farmer came up behind us, jumped off his ATV and tackled us to the ground. I tried to run, but he chased me," Leland said.
According to him, the farmer tied their hands and feet, pulled hoods over their heads, threw them on the ATV and drove them to the police. Leland was on the back of the ATV, and his friend was in front.
"I was scared of what he might do. We almost fell over a few times. We were shouting at him and he just said, 'Let me know when you fall,'" Gornby said.
Farmer suspected of assault and kidnapping
Greenwood drove the boys from his farm in the small town of Trauden to the nearest police station in Colney. However, within minutes of arriving, Greenwood himself was arrested by police, they write journalists.
Lancashire Police said they received a call from a man at his home in Trawden at 11.26am on Sunday 20 October, saying he had detained two "offenders". As police were en route to the call, a second call came from a man who said he was at Colne police station with two people. When officers went to meet them, they saw a teenager and a 20-year-old man hanging from a quad bike with their hands and feet bound.
"They were not secured," police said.
A farmer from Trawden was arrested on suspicion of false imprisonment and assault and was later released on bail pending further inquiries.
Greenwood reportedly returned to his farm on October 22 but declined to comment.
