How a Chinese farmer walks his 70,000-strong chicken army
40-year-old farmer Sun Qingjun from the Chinese city of Suihua walks 70 thousand laying hens and roosters every day. At the end of September, he captured what his feathered runners looked like on a stroll.
More than 70,000 laying hens and roosters raced behind their owner's tractor as he scattered feed across the field. The farmer then changed his feathered army's pilgrimage route and had them storm water obstacles to get to the other side of the field.
According to Sun Qingjun, he makes the chickens walk about 10 kilometers every day and also teaches them to fly so that they are in good shape and their meat becomes tastier.
