The girl's fiancé managed to find the gemstone two days later.

An Australian Shepherd named Charlie "stole" his owner Chloe Miller's diamond engagement ring right before the wedding. The dog swallowed the gemstone, but did not touch the ring itself. The incident happened back in 2022, but Chloe recently remembered this story and told People magazine about it.

Miller met her fiancé in college swimming. After five years of dating, the guy proposed to Chloe. Before the wedding, the couple lived in different cities: Miller was studying in graduate school in the American state of Georgia, and her boyfriend moved to Florida for work.

In March 2022, Chloe was studying for an important exam and was gone for about eight hours. The girl left the ring in a vase on the bedside table. And when she returned, she discovered that the jewelry was missing.

“I am known to lose everything, and at the time, I didn’t even insure the diamond! I was completely devastated and felt so irresponsible. First, I called my mother to tell her about the situation because I didn’t want to upset my fiancé, who was in Florida at the time,” the girl shared.

Eventually, Miller realized that Charlie had "stolen" the ring and, apparently, swallowed the diamond. This was not the first time that an animal had tried to eat jewelry. The girl was very worried about Charlie's health and planned to take the dog to the vet if the situation did not resolve itself. In addition, at that time, Chloe was not yet sure that Charlie had eaten the diamond: it could have simply gotten lost somewhere.

Chloe shared videos of the situation on TikTok - they gained hundreds of thousands of views and likes. A few days later, the girl's fiancé arrived - and was able to find the diamond.

"He was the one who found the diamond in her feces almost two days later. She swallowed it on Thursday, and on Saturday morning the diamond fell out. The only damage was on the prongs of the ring. I have since had the ring repaired and the diamond set in a stronger setting,” Chloe said.

Looking back on the situation, the girl remembers how upset she was at the time. However, according to her, she and her now husband “to this day” laugh about the story. The couple even told about the incident at their wedding as a joke. “It’s really part of our love and family history,” Chloe added.
