Luxurious Cadillac Sollei convertible with mushroom trim (10 photos + 1 video)
Cadillac has unveiled the Sollei concept convertible. It is based on the serial platform of the Celestiq electric car, but is an experiment in the field of creating unique cars for special orders. The concept is distinguished by a unique body and unusual interior trim, which uses, for example, Fine Mycelium biomaterial - it contains mushroom mycelium.
While the design of the front of the Sollei reveals the origins of the platform, the other body panels of the convertible are completely unique. The concept's Manila Cream paint job, which was used by the company in the late 1950s, was revived.
The four-seater interior is decorated in the same tones and uses renewable materials, although only certain areas are covered in new Fine Mycelium. In addition to various fabrics and leather, wood veneer, obtained from five different types of wood, is actively used: it is stated that all panels are cut and adjusted to each other by hand.
The Sollei equipment includes a proprietary 55-inch display, and a refrigerator is built into the console between the rear seats. In addition, a special set was developed for the concept, intended for bird watchers. It includes several decoys, as well as an album with illustrations and a leather case for pencils - for sketching birds. Finally, the convertible’s interior was equipped with advanced lighting, divided into several zones: for each of them you can choose an individual shade from the 126 available.
Technical characteristics of the concept are not named. Cadillac equips the flagship Celestiq electric car with a twin-engine power plant that develops about 600 horsepower and a 111-kilowatt battery with a range of 480 kilometers. The concept serves as a demonstration of the company's ability to create unique cars that Cadillac, following the example of Rolls-Royce, plans to offer to select customers.
