Another prediction from “The Simpsons” came true in Greenland (3 photos + 1 video)
This time, the creators of the series guessed right about the fish.
The image, posted on Reddit this week, shows a bizarre real-life fish with a third eye on the top of its head. "Three-eyed cod caught off the coast of Greenland."
Experts, after studying a photograph of the caught fish, came to the conclusion that one of its eyes may not be able to see due to exophthalmia, a disease in which the eyes bulge and cannot function fully.
The monster amazed netizens not with its abnormal eye, but with the fact that it turned out to be too similar to Blinky the fish from the sitcom “The Simpsons.”
In the episode, which first aired in November 1990, Marge Simpson cooks for Homer's husband, Mr. Burns, for his boss as part of his campaign for governor of Springfield. However, the billionaire is shocked when Marge shows him the three-eyed fish Blinky, a product of water pollution, on his plate.
Users, one and all, noted that The Simpsons predicted everything again. Over the 35 years of its history, the series has repeatedly predicted the future.
From Donald Trump's presidency (a prophecy that came true 15 years after that episode aired) to the horsemeat scandal to the chilling message of 9/11, the Fox show aired it all years before the events became reality. Now it looks like the storyline from the second season episodes "Two Cars in Every Garage" and "Three Eyes on Every Fish" has joined the list.
