Deep in the seas and oceans live creatures that are terribly similar to characters from famous cartoons. Just look at this resemblance! Here there is Pikachu the sea slug, and Kenny the sea anemone from South Park, and octopus Squidward Tentacles...

The deep regions of the ocean have still been studied very little. Sometimes From there they get very unusual creatures, from quite cute to goggle-eyed ones, toothy and quite scary. This collection contains only cute ones creatures reminiscent of famous cartoon characters.

Homer Simpson (The Simpsons)

Atlantean stargazer with bulging eyes and unhappy with his facial expression he looks like an exact copy of the iconic character from The Simpsons Homer.

The stargazer usually buries itself in the sand and hides there so that his muzzle is barely visible. But he's not messing around like him cartoon colleague. This is how he hunts small fish, crabs and crustaceans. He bites his victims and finishes them off with poison. For humans this poison is not dangerous, but may cause swelling (probably as painful as "strangulation" with which Homer raises his son Bart).

Here's another photo of the creepy Atlantic stargazer. Photographed by Wildlife Photographer Award nominee Pietro Formis.

Kenny McCormick (South Park)

Sailor from Murmansk Roman Fedortsov shared a photo this strange creature, believing that it resembles Kenny McCormick. "Oh my God, they killed Kenny!" - he joked.

The infamous introvert from "South Park" appears to be... copes well with the role of an invertebrate. Despite its cartoonish The species Roman found is a sea anemone, or sea anemone, a close relative of jellyfish and corals. These carnivorous aquatic animals spend most of their lives in one place, waiting for the road plankton, fish and even crabs will pass to them. When the opportunity arises, sea anemones produce filaments known as "nematocysts" that are completely paralyze unsuspecting prey. Then these tentacles tighten the victim to the mouth opening of the sea anemone.

Squidward Quentin Tentacles (SpongeBob SquarePants)

This octopus has a slimy blue surface and is exceptionally big nose bears a striking resemblance to the infamous unfortunate Squidward from SpongeBob.

Incredible footage of cephalopods was captured by photographer Jonathon Gordon in the Caribbean back in 2015. In a matter of seconds, the eight-legged creature goes from a camouflaged state to bright turquoise hue and slowly moving along the seabed.

Octopuses achieve this camouflage by squeezing and contracting pigment sacs under the skin, which can enhance certain colors and mute others. Some species can also change the texture of their skin to blend with the environment: from smooth to whimsical prickly surface.

Krabby Patty ("SpongeBob SquarePants")

Be it a mutated Big Mac or a rather cunning Crab Cutlet, there is no doubt that this strange sea creature is like hamburger. Roman Fedortsov also found him and wondered: “This is A Krabby Patty, a new McDonald's sandwich, or a crumpled turtle face ninja?".

Krabby Patties are hamburgers sold by a fictional restaurant "Krusty Krab" in the animated series "SpongeBob SquarePants".

There is an assumption that Roman's find is two sea anemones stuck together. But it is not exactly.

Pikachu (Pokemon)

Thecacera pacifica is a species of sea slug, nudibranch mollusk, a marine gastropod of the family Polyceridae. Sometimes it is also called Pikachu nudibranch due to its resemblance to Pokemon Pikachu.

Sea slug Thecacera pacifica - nudibranch mollusk, marine gastropod of the family Polyceridae. He's so similar on the Pokemon Pikachu that it is sometimes called that way. These are tiny creatures (their size is only one or two centimeters) live in the Indian ocean and western Pacific. Due to their size, notice them quite difficult, but do not underestimate them. Under stressPikachu the slug “shoots” an electric shock. He also highlights toxins to protect yourself. Pikachu's diet consists of jellyfish, plankton and seaweed.

Blinky the three-eyed fish (The Simpsons)

The creators of The Simpsons have earned a reputation for unconsciously predicting the future - and there was already evidence of this a bunch of. And here we go again, this time with a mutated three-eyed fish.

An episode from the 1990s features the discovery three-eyed fish Blinky. Like the creature from The Simpsons, this catfish was caught in waters that were so polluted that his genetics completely changed. That's why he looks so strange.

Now let’s remember the story that nuclear waste Fukushima power plants will be dumped into the Pacific Ocean, and fears about such mutated fish! Authorities say none of this is poses a threat to people, and activists are outraged by the obvious risk, related to waste processing.

And so, amid controversy, Japanese Prime Minister Fumio Kishida takes and eats sashimi fish on camera to prove that she is safe to eat. Just like in The Simpsons - where Mr. Burns ate fish exposed to nuclear waste.
