Cybertruck will enter service with the US police (8 photos)
The Tesla Cybertruck now has a police modification; it was developed by the Up.Fit special unit of the Unplugged Performance tuning studio, known for its projects based on Tesla electric cars. The developers plan to sell such machines to security agencies and police departments in the United States. Deliveries of patrol and tactical electric pickup trucks will begin this year.
The basic version of the electric pickup truck for patrol will feature special signals, a siren, a public address system and a control panel for additional equipment in the cabin. In addition, the Cybertruck will be equipped with alternative 18-inch forged wheels with all-terrain tires - A/T from BFGoodrich on sample.
Among the additional options, the studio names more powerful brakes, a lattice partition separating the rear sofa in the cabin, a box for storing weapons and a permanent Internet connection via satellite. In addition, the Cybertruck can be prepared to transport dogs from canine units. The electric patrol car was developed with the participation of current law enforcement officers.
The tuners say they can also create a battery-powered truck for tactical or search-and-rescue operations. Such a vehicle will differ mainly in additional modifications for more severe off-road conditions. Unplugged Perfromance developed a particularly off-road Cybertruck even before official sales began. The set of upgrades includes alternative power bumpers, roof rails and various accessories, and the ground clearance of the Tesla pickup is increased to almost 500 mm.
The cost of the improvements has not been specified.
