Eminem celebrated 16 years of sobriety. The 51-year-old rapper took to social media to share a photo of a “sobriety coin” with the number 16 engraved on it. Marshall has been sober and drug-free since April 20, 2008, and this is a significant achievement for him. Well done! 
Recently, 51-year-old Eminem shared a photo of a coin with the number 16 engraved on it on his social networks - and this photo was worth a thousand words. This “sobriety coin” is given out to members of Alcoholics Anonymous or other similar programs: it indicates the time during which a member of the program remains sober. Eminem has been free of alcohol and drugs since April 20, 2008, and has celebrated 16 years of absolute sobriety. 
The coin depicts the tree of life, the principles of honesty, hope, faith and discipline - these are the “roots” of sobriety that lead to the formation of a full, meaningful life. Millions of netizens supported Marshall by leaving positive comments under his photo, including his fellow actors. Many congratulated him and wrote that he once inspired them to give up alcohol and other addictions. 
Marshall himself has openly spoken about his struggle with drug addiction more than once: both in his songs and in interviews. After his first stint in rehab in 2005, the rapper revealed in an interview that he once almost died from an overdose. Eminem dedicated the entire album Relapse, released in 2009, to drug abuse.
