A water carrier collided with a plane at Domodedovo airport (6 photos)
The driver of the service vehicle lost control.
On Wednesday afternoon in Domodedovo, a water carrier crashed into an Airbus A380-800 aircraft of the Arab airline Emirates and seriously damaged its fuselage. It is noted that the plane was soon scheduled to fly to Dubai and a special vehicle was heading to fill it with drinking water.
Initially, it was reported that the driver of the water carrier had mixed up the pedals and was even going to be tested for intoxication. But as it turned out later, a 59-year-old airport employee named Vladimir had a stroke while driving a car and was paralyzed. It is reported that Vladimir was hospitalized in serious condition. Doctors are fighting for his life.
It is noted that the damaged aircraft is the largest and most expensive passenger airliner in the world. The plane that was supposed to fly to Dubai had 489 seats.
The Federal Air Transport Agency and the transport prosecutor's office took control of the incident at the airport. And passengers will have to wait at least 8 hours before departing on another flight, since the Airbus with its “belly” ripped open will not fly anywhere in the near future. It will remain there until it is repaired.
