The first patient with an implant in the brain plays chess “with the power of thought”
The first patient with a brain implant demonstrated how he plays chess on a computer. The company Neuralink, owned by Elon Musk, held a stream where the man shared his impressions.
The Neuralink company broadcast on the social network X. 29-year-old Nolan said that about 8 years ago he was paralyzed in an accident, since then he has not felt anything below his shoulders.
He loves to play chess, but until recently he could not do it. During the broadcast, he demonstrated how the implant allows him to move the cursor on his laptop screen with the power of thought, rearranging the figures. According to Nolan, all he has to do is “think about it.” He compared his sensations to using the “force” from Star Wars.
Nolan also noted that he easily underwent the operation to install the implant.
