Smart chess: they move the pieces themselves and let them play over the network

25 May 2023

A startup from Israel introduced GoChess table chess, which can connect to a smartphone, move pieces for you and give hints on how to act in a given situation.

GoChess works with the Lichness and Chesscom websites: you can move your pieces with your hands and even with your voice, and the opponent's moves are automatically repeated (there are magnets on the rails under the playing field). There are also games with a bot, a timer that works when a piece is rearranged, as well as courses on the game with a demonstration on the board.

At the pre-order stage, GoChess costs $259. Sales will begin in May 2024 in the US and Europe.
