At the 74th International Astronautics Congress in the capital of Azerbaijan, the head of SpaceX, Elon Musk, was announced as the winner of the honorary 2023 IAF World Space Prize for individuals.

According to members of the International Astronautical Congress (IAC), the American businessman deserved the award for his outstanding contribution to space exploration and the development of astronautics. Musk was unable to attend the award ceremony in person. Stephanie Bednarek, senior director of commercial launch sales for SpaceX, received the award instead.
