Three-meter alligator caught a huge python
In the Everglades National Park in the US state of Florida, tourists captured an alligator trying to eat a python after a fight.

Wildlife photographer Alison Joslin witnessed the rare scene. She spotted the alligator near the Shark Valley Observation Tower on Friday, August 8, and captured the aftermath of the fight that had taken place the day before. “It looked like the alligator was trying to eat the snake from time to time, but without much success, and then resting with it in its mouth,” the photographer says.
The alligator was about 2.7 meters long, and the python was about 2.1 meters, not counting the head, which was already gone when Joslin saw the hunt.
"The alligator would throw its head up and kind of toss the snake. I think it was trying to tear off a piece that it could swallow. It could see me perfectly well, and when it eventually swam away, I think it was because it was afraid that I would try to take this tasty morsel away from it."
Burmese pythons, which can grow up to six meters in length, came to the United States from Southeast Asia. It is believed that the basis of the American population were individuals that escaped from zoos and pet stores during Hurricane Andrew, which hit Florida in 1992. Ten years later, huge snakes began to be spotted in the Everglades, a natural complex that occupies a quarter of Florida. They easily exterminated local animals, while they themselves remained invulnerable to predators and multiplied uncontrollably.
