Werecats: a review of the strangest and most terrifying breed in the world (8 photos)
This cat’s sudden appearance effectively cures binge drinking, constipation and spoilage. Use may cause stuttering or addiction - depending on how much your psyche can withstand. We present it in all its glory, if I may say so – glorious! A werecat, or Barsik, who fell into a vat of hydrochloric acid.
Pet me if you dare!
Lykoi is one of the most unusual breeds of mustachioed flat-feathers over the last quarter of a century. Please note that these cats hatched spontaneously and on their own, no one deliberately mutilated the poor animals! People just fixed the mutation, drew up a breeding plan and began systematically crossing fearcats with each other. And you can admire for yourself what came of it.
Please kiss my paw.
The appearance of Lykoi is reminiscent of classic werewolves from horror films: sparse, rough, spiky hair, a bald muzzle and a slight madness in their large yellow eyes. But unlike lycanthropes, lycoths always look like this. Well, or almost always. Due to their special mutation, animals periodically go completely bald and then grow back. Yes, their fate is not easy!
Well, what did you want? Today is the full moon!
This whole story with werecats began in 2010. Nobody bit anyone, it was just that one day Patty Thomas's cat suddenly gave birth to two very strange kittens. The woman handed over the mother and brood to the experienced hands of the Gobble spouses, who were breeding sphinxes. According to his wife, they were simply fascinated by the unusual babies. What the neighbors said, history is silent.
This is certainly the case when beauty is in the eye of the beholder.
A year later, the Gobbles were lucky again - another cat in another part of the country gave birth to exactly the same wolfcats. Of course, these animals also ended up with the spouses. They conducted a full course of examinations to understand why the animals look so strange. And... they didn’t find anything! The cats turned out to be healthy. The kittens also had nothing in common with completely hairless breeds, sphinxes. The Lykoi turned out to have their own wool deficiency mutation.
When you love him not for his appearance.
If we go into detail, this mutation disrupts the functioning of hair follicles or follicles. In those follicles from which the undercoat grows in ordinary cats, there simply are not enough components formed for them to grow at least some hair. In other bulbs, although there is a component, it is so unbalanced that the hairs grow at random and constantly fall out. Because of this, the Lykoi look like tattered cats, but it’s not their fault - it’s just a joke of nature that people have carefully fixed.
If ordinary cats are afraid of water, then only holy water is scary!
In the wild, such kittens would not survive even one winter, but in experienced hands the animals live happily ever after and have already managed to create a whole flock of their own kind. 13 years were enough for the new breed to become famous and officially recognized in some organizations. But even despite this, today lykoi is still at the “development stage”, and finding a worthy representative in our country can be very difficult.
Now Lykoi are bred not only black, but also other colors. For example, white or peach.
Why look? Firstly, of course, for the sake of exoticism. No other breed in the world has this appearance. Whether this is good or bad is up to gourmets and connoisseurs to decide. Secondly, although the animals look scary, they are comfortable in everyday life. A cat's canine traits are present not only in appearance, but also in character. Likoi are playful, affectionate and reverently loyal to their owner.
Murzik, fas! Give them a good scare!
At first, of course, you will have to sleep with light and silver under your pillow, but soon you will get used to it. Take the risk of stroking it, and then follow the pattern: first on your arms, then under the blanket, and then in your heart. And believe me, you will never regret it!
