Alfred Langevin: eye smoker and smoke blower (7 photos + 1 video)
Smoking is a bad habit, but not without aesthetics. Cigars, mouthpieces, and pipes make the process elegant not only for the smoker himself, but also for those around him.
There was a person in history who is considered one of a kind. Because he knew how to smoke not with his mouth, but with his eyes.
Alfred Langevin (1885-1974) was a Canadian from Detroit, Michigan. In the 1930s, Langevin participated not only in Robert Ripley's Believe It or Not! series, but also in the famous Ripley's Odditorium from 1933 to 1940.
Langevin could not only smoke a pipe using his eyelids, but also inflate balloons and play simple melodies on simple musical instruments such as pipes.
The unique person had everything in order with his eyes and vision, no defects in physiology or perception. It was not possible to find out the exact reason for such an unusual ability at that time. But, probably, it consisted of an anomaly in the development of the lacrimal gland.
This organ produces tear fluid and protects the eyes from external influences. In extremely rare cases, due to structural features, it can provide abilities of the type that Langevin possessed.
