For two years, the mother appeared at her son’s house only once.





In France, a 9-year-old schoolboy lived alone for two years, eating only sweets and canned food. This was reported by the local publication Charente Libre. The police found out that the boy's mother moved in with her lover, but did not take her son with her.

The child ate what he could find and what did not need to be cooked: canned food, sweets and treats from neighbors. The child’s mother lived a five-minute walk from “his” house, but in two years she visited her son only once. Every time she saw her son, the woman refused to take him with her to her lover.

Interestingly, the boy studied well. Despite the fact that he stole food from stores, he managed to do his homework and went to school regularly.

Neighbors realized that the boy needed help and called the police. Arriving officers found piles of trash, an empty refrigerator and a pile of dirty clothes in the house.

The woman was deprived of parental rights and sentenced to probation, although she claimed that she did not abandon her son. The child was placed in a foster family.
