A video of a tourist surprised by the huge crowd of people climbing Mount Fuji before dawn is rapidly gaining popularity on social media, vividly demonstrating the congestion experienced by travelers during peak climbing season.
The video, posted on TikTok by @_theraa, has garnered over 1.1 million views in just a few days. The footage shows a long line of hikers with headlamps and backpacks slowly making their way up the dark slope. The user notes that the journey, which usually takes about an hour, was stretched almost twice as long due to the heavy traffic.
"The hour-long hike from the hut to the summit stretched to two hours due to the traffic," the user wrote.
