The girl attended a Libyan wedding and told how the celebration was going (5 photos)
Different nations have their own traditional wedding ceremonies. Tatyana is a photographer who told how the ceremony of the Libyan couple went. The girl lives in Paris, she has a child, while she is on maternity leave, she sometimes takes filming.
The following is a story from Tatyana:
“Once I had the opportunity to photograph the wedding of a Libyan couple. Unlike Europeanized Tunisians, in the average Libyan family everything is strict: girls wear niqabs in public places.
The niqab is a cape that covers a woman from head to toe, except for the opening for the eyes. But women remain women everywhere, they want to dress up, wear cleavage, brogues, heels, so for a party they usually book 2 halls: men's and women's"
“Unfortunately, I have no idea how the groom and his guests are having fun, but I’ll tell you how the bride and her bridesmaids are walking. That time it all started with the bride’s preparations in her room, where my jaw dropped and would not rise again. Firstly, the dress, which took 6 months to make. The outfit was all embroidered with beads, and the train reached 6 meters. It felt like this beauty weighed 20 kilograms. Naturally - a deep neckline, when, if not now?"
"Secondly, gold and diamonds. I have never seen so many diamonds on one person in my life. Full set: huge shoulder-length earrings, a necklace and a ring for each finger, including a couple of rings that cover the entire finger. And of course , shoes + perfume + bouquet - everything is very beautiful and very expensive.
The bride dressed up, and then it turned out that all her girlfriends had already gone into the hall, and she had to get to the elevator alone, enter the elevator, go down to the first floor and solemnly appear before the guests. It would seem that there is nothing complicated here. Yes, but! It was very difficult to do this in a dress with a six-meter train, and the carpets in the hotel corridors turned this task into a real challenge. Guess who carried the train to the elevator? That's right, me! Who stuffed the huge pussy into the elevator? That's right, me too."
“I began to imagine with horror what would happen in the hall, because I knew the hotel, and everything there was also covered in carpets. However, what was my surprise when we entered and discovered a specially erected podium with a sliding surface. The bride could not only walk on herself without any help, but even to dance, which is what she actually did all evening. The entire ceiling was decorated with pink artificial flowers, there were some beautiful flower arrangements everywhere, and the service staff and the music band were exclusively female. I felt like in a Disney fairy tale.
It was very beautiful, fabulous and interesting, but I would never want such a holiday in my life, it’s just not my story. But it was pleasant to look at the bride, she was all glowing with joy. At the end of the evening the groom appeared, and all the ladies except the bride instantly covered themselves with niqabs. I don't know if this was really the first time he saw her without a headscarf, but he showered her with compliments and smiled non-stop.
Then everyone danced a little and went to their rooms (for they were all newcomers). This is where the fairy tale ends."
