In the homeland of the singer Shakira - in the Colombian city of Barranquilla - a sculpture was erected in her honor. 
The 6.4 meter high bronze article was created by artist Yino Marques. The figure recreates the singer's dance move from the famous 2005 music video for the song Hips Don't Lie.

“I'm glad to share this with my parents. I am very pleased to share this with them and especially with my mother on her birthday,” Shakira wrote in the publication.
The singer was also touched by the dedication text on the statue.
