Huawei has announced prices for the large electric crossover Aito M9 (11 photos)
The Chinese company, known to us for smartphones and other electronic devices, has presented a large electric car, the Aito M9, which is larger in size than the Toyota Land Cruiser 300. It will have two powertrains to choose from, both with all-wheel drive. Sales should start in December this year, with prices ranging from 500,000 to 600,000 yuan or 60-70 thousand dollars.
The dimensions of the all-terrain vehicle are 5230×1999×1800 mm with a wheelbase of 3110 mm. Thus, the crossover is comparable in size to a number of large Chinese minivans. Its scale suggests that the Aito M9 will have versions with two and three rows of seats.
The laconic appearance of the M9, vaguely reminiscent of the Mercedes-Benz GLS silhouette, is diluted with 22-inch wheels and unusual optics. Both headlights and lanterns received pixel sections, which will most likely be able to display simple animation. The Aito M9 will also have a developed hardware complex for an autonomous control system with a roof-mounted lidar.
The crossover will enter the Chinese market with two powertrain options. Both are electric and consist of two motors, but differ in both power and the way they store energy. The first modification will receive a 218-horsepower engine on the front axle and a 313-horsepower engine on the rear, as well as a 98-kilowatt CATL battery. This Aito M9 will be able to travel up to 630 km without recharging.
The second version has a noticeably smaller battery - 40 kWh. The engines, which can develop 224 and 152 hp, will also be different. With. respectively. The electric range is only 175 km. However, this crossover will receive a 1.5-liter 152-horsepower internal combustion engine to generate electricity and, most likely, will be noticeably longer-range than a conventional electric car. The exact data has not yet been announced.
The assembly of the new all-terrain vehicle will be carried out by Huawei's production partner, Seres. Full sales of Aito M9 should start in December.
