“This is the face of a tired mother”: Adriana Lima responded to criticism (7 photos + 1 video)
On November 13, Adriana Lima attended the premiere of The Hunger Games: The Ballad of Snakes and Songbirds in Los Angeles. Despite the fact that she is one of the most famous Victoria's Secret Angels, her latest appearance has caused heated discussions. Fans accused the Brazilian supermodel of being addicted to plastic surgery.
Adriana advertised for the Victoria's Secret lingerie brand from 1999 to 2018. She is the face of IWC, Puma, Maybelline and Chopard.
“I would never have thought it was her,” one social media user wrote.
While others suggested the 42-year-old Brazilian beauty could be "still swollen" from her beauty treatments.
From 2009 to 2016, Lima was married to basketball player Marko Jaric. The former spouses have two daughters - Valentina and Sienna. She is currently in a relationship with Andre Lemmers, with whom she gave birth to a son last year.
After discussions about her appearance, the supermodel posted a photo on social networks without makeup and wrote: “This is what the face of a tired mother of three teenagers and a one-year-old active boy who is learning to walk, and three dogs looks like... Thank you for your concern.”
In 2017, Lima stated that she doesn't want to be seen as just a "face/body."
Most recently, the beauty admitted that motherhood changed “everything” in her life, as beauty and self-care sometimes went “in the background” to focus on children.
She said: "As my daughters got older, I realized that they copy many of my actions and habits, and it is important for me to make sure that they copy the good things."
Mom allows her daughters to “experiment with her cosmetics, masks and creams.”
“I teach them to love their skin, eat healthy foods, and maintain mental health through meditation,” Lima told Vogue.
Adriana also noted that the fashion world still has a "long way to go" to become a truly inclusive industry.
She said: "I'm glad it's become more inclusive towards people of different races and sizes, but of course there's still a long way to go. I'd love to see any girl or guy starting a magazine, website or social network, no matter how they feel about fashion and felt represented in a beautiful and positive way."
