Dogs are the most loyal creatures on earth!
71-year-old Rich Moore hiked to the Colorado mountains to summit the 3,810-meter summit of Blackhead Mountain. Moore lived 25 kilometers from the summit, so he went light. He took with him his faithful friend, the Jack Russell terrier Finny. They were due to return on August 19th. But neither that day nor the following ones, Rich and Finney returned home, Fox News reports. Relatives immediately reported him missing. After spending 2,000 hours, rescuers were only able to find Rich's car.
On October 30, a hunter accidentally stumbled upon Rich's body. It was more than two miles east of the summit. The faithful dog Finny sat next to the man. By some miracle he managed to survive in the forests and did not leave the body of his owner.
According to Northern Chaffee County Search and Rescue, Moore was unprepared when he reached the top of the 13,000-foot peak in the Cottonwood Lake area, near Buena Vista. He was only wearing a hoodie. He did not take any food or water with him. Investigators believe he died of natural causes. From which ones it is not yet known.
The dog was taken to the veterinarians. He turned out to be completely healthy and reunited with his family. Moore's relatives are grieving for Rich, but they are relieved that Finney is back home, the NY Post reports.
