29-year-old model died after liposuction of fat from knees (3 photos)

Brazilian model and reality TV star Luana Andrade was sure that her thick knees were hindering her modeling career.





Luana Andrade, 29, went to the Sao Luis Hospital in Sao Paulo to undergo liposuction to remove excess fat from her knees. 2.5 hours after the start of the operation, the girl’s heart stopped. Andrade's official cause of death was listed as pulmonary embolism, which usually occurs after tissue breaks away from the veins of the leg and travels to the lungs, Dailymail reported.

The operation was interrupted and the patient was sent for examination, which revealed massive thrombosis. She then underwent medication and hemodynamic treatment, the hospital reported.



For the girl, this was the first and only plastic surgery. Luana Andrade was friends with Brazil national football team forward Neymar. He mourned the girl on his Instagram:

Luana Andrade was famous as a model. A year ago, she took part in a romantic reality show with her boyfriend. The girl ran her own blog with 500 thousand subscribers and founded her own clothing brand. The girl’s boyfriend, Joao Hadad, admitted on his page that her death shocked him.
