For some reason, people of different power categories ended up on the same pedestal.
Recently, a women's cycling competition was held in the United States, in which transgender people took the first two places. First place in the women's Single Speed category at the Chicago Cup was won by 25-year-old Tessa Johnson, second by 30-year-old Evelyn Williamson. And only the bronze medal went to a biological woman - Allison Zmuda.
KCHV organizers said that the main goal of the competition is to create a positive and supportive community built around the cyclocross competition, and therefore they welcome all participants to the races.
In addition to the Chickaco Cup, Johnson has previous wins in the Cat Half category, while Williamson has been racing in the women's division since 2017 and has won 18 events.
I cannot accept the fact that former men are participating in women’s competitions. No matter who they think they are now, it is clear that they are physically stronger. So let them compete with their own kind, or create transgender competitions specifically for them. But it is at least not fair for them to take first place with a smile.
The victory of transgender cyclists also caused active discussion among Americans. Thus, former track and field coach Linda Blades said that the organizers of the KChV are turning the sport into a joke and they should stop calling their races “women’s races.” And one of the users of the social network X jokingly called on female athletes to boycott competitions due to “toxic masculinity.”
