Two transgender men took prizes at the women's cycling championship in Chicago (4 photos)
One of these athletes has been racing as a “woman” since 2017 and has already won 18 titles.
25-year-old Tessa Johnson and 30-year-old Evelyn Williamson grabbed gold and silver at the Chicago Cup. The nuance is that these are transgender men.

As representatives of the tournament organizing committee stated:
Discrimination or harassment of any kind - based on race, color, religion, age, gender, sexual orientation, gender identity, national origin, sports team affiliation, or any other stupid idea that someone comes up with to humiliate others, – are unacceptable.
Apparently this is why the biological woman only got third place.
Satisfied with the victory, the champions received prize money and are now preparing for the next competition. Williamson is especially interesting; he has been participating in women's tournaments since 2017, during which time he has received 18 awards. But in 2020, at the Sky Express Winter Criterium, he took turns racing in both the men's and women's races. Among the ladies he took first place, among the men he did not even make it into the top three.
Many people criticize such a strange sport. For example, US track and field coach Linda Blade called the Chicago Cup a "beta men's race with women competing."
