To draw public attention to problems disposal of toxic waste on the territory of the former Stokaminex mine in Wittelsheim (Upper Rhine, Germany), activists from the group Extinction Rebellion held a rally in the French city of Colmar. Ecovandals flooded green dye into reservoirs. 
The water immediately took on an unnatural color. 
And then the fish began to die in the canals and rivers. The mayor of Kalmar reported this outrageous incident. 
Environmental activists are perplexed because they used fluorescein (uranine), which, according to them, is “completely harmless to living creatures (humans, plants, animals)."
Colmar Mayor Eric Straumann has not decided whether to serve complaint about the actions of the environmental group. The official wants to wait for development situations. Although from the point of view of environmentalists, the harm caused by activists Colmar's aquatic environment is enormous. Even after 48 hours the water has not cleared and remains bright green, and the number of dead fish in the Losches River is only growing. In addition, if quite large aquatic inhabitants die, then what talk about microorganisms? But their death has a huge consequence for the entire ecosystem.
Meanwhile, the activist who poured the dye into the water was detained, but not arrested, but only fined. It's nice to be eco-vandal in Europe, isn't it?
