In Alaska, they filmed a baribal bear sleeping in an unusual place - micetimes.asia in the bald eagle's nest. It was accidentally stumbled upon during inspection of eagles' nests at a military base.
It is known that black bears (or baribals) sometimes use bald eagle nests in Alaska. According to the Fisheries Conservation Service economy and wildlife, unfortunately, such intrusions are usually the chicks and the eagles themselves suffer. Bears sometimes eat eagle eggs and chicks. According to experts, such cases are difficult to trace and prevent because they cannot provide continuous surveillance.
During a helicopter survey in May, researchers noticed a female bald eagle incubating an egg in a nest. Later it the nest was occupied by a black bear - but the egg remained untouched. At that time feathered parents flew restlessly near the nest, fearing for the egg, but couldn't do anything. Bald eagles are the largest birds of prey living in Alaska. Their wingspan reaches 2.3 meters. They also build the largest nests of all North American birds: diameter some nests can be 2.4 meters.
Often eagle nests attract baribals because of the smell. The fish that adults catch for their young are sometimes stays in the nest, causing a strong smell - and the bears perfectly feel with their strong sense of smell.
