Debuted serial crossover Toyota Crown Sport. In Japan a "live" presentation of the second model of the Crown family took place. Announced two hybrid modifications with a naturally aspirated 2.5-liter engine and electric all-wheel drive E-Four. 
From certain angles, the Toyota Crown Sport resembles a Ferrari Purosangue, although there is not even an architectural similarity: a Japanese novelty created on the front-wheel drive platform TNGA-K. Closest relative - four-door cross-sedan Crown Crossover, but the five-door has eight centimeters, the wheelbase is shortened, and the overall length is 22 less centimeters.
In the cabin, the commonality of "Crowns" with different body types striking: front panel, central tunnel, infotainment complex, steering wheel, door cards - all this maximum unified. Differences from the field of equipment: for Crown Sport declared "sports" chairs with integrated headrests and bright Decoration Materials.
The developers promise that the Crown Sport will have more “driver” chassis settings: reconfigure adaptive dampers, otherwise calibrate the steered rear axle. However, modern hybrid systems with a “turbo four” 2.4 for the crossover are not declared: choose will have to be between a conventional and a charged hybrid based on the "aspirated" 2.5. Performance is kept secret, but on "related" models the HEV system produces up to 239 horsepower, and the PHEV system produces up to 306 horsepower.
During the year, the Crown family will be replenished with a station wagon on that the same TNGA-K platform, but there will also be an ideological successor to the Crown in sedan body: an executive coupe-like car is on the way, built around the TNGA-L rear-wheel drive architecture.
