A jeweler makes unusual armor for cats and mice (16 photos + 1 video)
Canadian artist and jeweler Jeff de Boer is known for his unique works - he makes intricate metal armor, which are intended for cats and mice. It all started with a little ideas a few years ago. 
As the artist himself says, once he was looking for a creative a way to combine your longtime passion for medieval armor and jeweler's craft. One day it dawned on him - why not make tiny armor for a mouse? Then he did not think that this idea and his work may be of interest to someone. But today it is considered the only master in the creation of such products, and on his account - over 500 of these miniature armors. 
Jeff was first introduced to armor as a child, and I have always been intrigued and amazed by them. In high school he did the first armor in human growth. Subsequently, the man received jeweler's specialization - and then his love for armor took on a new form. Wanting to do something new and excite people's imagination, he decided to make armor for animals. Of course they are not meant to worn by animals, but have only decorative functions - although one day he made armor for a cat commissioned by a Japanese show. 
Since then, Jeff has been making a lot of custom armor. According to him According to him, his clients are often interested in history and art, and therefore order armor using elements of various historical styles: for example, Roman gladiators, Polish hussars, Ottomans, Japanese samurai and so on. Each jeweler's piece consists of 500 to 300 individual fragments, and it takes dozens of hours to make. Most of the armor is made of nickel, steel and brass.
