The Chevrolet Nomad first appeared as a concept car in 1954. year as part of the fantasies of the designers of General Motors Motorama "Dream Cars". In 1955, in the Chevrolet model range, only Nomad was more expensive than Corvette - which later became the main sports car in America. Wagon in base was equipped with a 3.4-liter V8 engine with a capacity of 180 horsepower forces, later a 280-horsepower injection unit appeared. In 1956 Ford made an attempt to compete with the popular Nomad, but the model Parklane turned out to be much less attractive and a year later it was removed from production - sports station wagon Chevrolet was out of competition.
